Michael is a seasoned CPA, CEO, entrepreneur, and family investment advisor. He serves as a senior member of Signet’s Investment Committee and heads Signet’s Transaction Advisory business, bringing decades of specialized experience in the investment industry.

Michael began his career at KPMG (a Big-4 CPA firm) in Chicago and Denver from 1979 to 1982, where he focused on financial institutions and broker/dealers. He then served as Manager in the Commodities/Securities Division at Checkers, Simon & Rosner CPAs (now RSM US LLP) until 1985, followed by his role as Chief Financial Officer at Richard Dennis & Company, a registered Commodity Trading Advisor and Commodity Pool Operator, from 1986 to 1988.

In 1988, Michael founded Liccar CPA, specializing in accounting, financial, performance, and regulatory reporting, along with tax preparation and planning for investment advisors and private investment funds worldwide. He expanded internationally in 1996, founding Genesis Fund Services, Ltd., a licensed fund administrator in Nassau, Bahamas, serving as a Director until 2010. In 2010, he established Liccar Securities, LLC, a licensed broker/dealer he operated until 2017. Additionally, in 2016, Michael co-founded CST Tax Advisors-Chicago, LLC, focusing on tax preparation and planning for US expatriates.

Michael is a licensed CPA and holds a B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University (1979).
